Work appears to be progressing at a fast pace on a new restaurant being created at Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium.
It is understood that the club is aiming to have the new eatery up and running for business next month – most likely in time for the Rams first home game of the new Championship season against Wolves on Saturday, August 12.
Planning documents state it will be called The Yard. It is thought that the name might be a nod to the railway yards on which the stadium and the surrounding Pride Park business park were built.
The restaurant is being created in the south-west corner of the stadium
Last month, Delaware North UK – the company appointed to operate the bar and restaurant – started advertising various hospitality and catering roles for the new venture, which is housed in the south-west corner of the stadium.
That part of Pride Park Stadium used to be occupied by the former Funktion Fitness gym.
Those job adverts suggest that The Yard will open in August and have space for 247 covers. And its menu will “take inspiration from the local area as a celebration of Derbyshire”.
But The Yard will not just be open on match days. It will open every day from 11am to 11pm, serving brunch, lunch and dinner.
