“We know that we have some incredible businesses out there achieving great things. We want to celebrate those achievements. ”

April Hayhurst, the college’s deputy principal, said: “We should applaud those who are going above and beyond in terms of entrepreneurial innovation, growth, job creation and workforce development.
“Awards such as these raise the profile of the city and county as a centre of excellence that will potentially attract inward investment from like-minded or supply chain businesses.”
Russell Davies, partner and head of dispute resolution at Derby law firm Smith Partnership, said: “The awards are arguably the most important annual awards in Derby so, as an ambitious business ourselves, we were naturally keen to get involved in recognising those businesses which have exceeded expectations, and contribute hugely to the success not only of themselves, but also of Derby and Derbyshire as a whole, making it undoubtedly the best place to do business.”
