A Derby firm which develops flavours for the food and drink industry has launched a search for a lab technician.
Mane Flavours, which has its laboratory in Mallard Way, Pride Park, is a French multinational that supplies the flavours for hundreds of products lining the shelves in supermarkets around the world.
Its Derby base has a kitchen that is used for working on savoury flavours and a laboratory for developing flavours for ice cream, biscuits and cakes.
It also has an area dedicated to producing flavours and sensations for leading producers of teas and coffees.
Now, the company is recruiting for a full-time savoury food technician to work in its new food products development laboratory.

According to Mane, the successful applicant will gain a valuable insight into the world of flavour and the food industry, supporting a team of savoury food technologist and scientists.
They will be asked to prepare samples of seasonings and flavours and apply them to the finished products, which will be predominantly snack foods.

Suitable applicants must have good numeracy, literacy and computer skills. Good communication skills are also essential.
Ideally, candidates should have a “passion for food and/or cooking”, a basic food hygiene/safety training and a basic knowledge of French.
